A question which occurs to me is whether he is selling the official XPart upgrade or whether he has broken the coding

OK

had a reply back with a price

"for 5 or more upgrades(assuming all in same place) would be £150 each"

That's a very good price. It's possible he would be willing to travel to a meet etc.

I was at Executive Motoring Services in Kent yesterday having my IPK fitted.
While I was there Ralph mentioned a customer of his had is fuel pump replaced at a BMW garage.
While they were doing that they had to do something with the ECU. They connected it to a BMW computer and the computer did a bit of a wobbler. It basically thought the mapping was wrong and corrected it with a reflash. The result. A rover 75 with the BMW engine Mapping and no need for the X-Power upgrade. Obviously the customer was happy.

Perhaps this is an option for the CDT owners. Just get the BMW Mappings for the engine.

Go on then, for £150 I'd consider it.. THink there will be 5 of us? And more to the point, if we get 10, will he do £125?

Now that, my friend, is the best idea I've heard on the subject! I shall be calling my friendly neighbourhood BMW dealer on Monday morning If it works, I'll let you guys know.. Potentially, it would just cost the price of half an hours labour? Oooh, the excitement!

I should point out that if you use the BMW system and successfully remap the ECU to a BMW-spec then when you next connect a T4 to your car the T4 may see that the engine map is incorrect for your VIN data and then accordingly re-write the map back to default setting according to the VIN information.

Be careful out there.

Keith Alexander mentioned this to me when he was doing a T4 session on mine last year, as mine has the upsolute remap he said if i ever had another T4 session with anyone else I had to tell them that mine was remapped otherwise it would re flash mine back to the basic settings,
Regards Bill.
