A question which occurs to me is whether he is selling the official XPart upgrade or whether he has broken the coding

OK
had a reply back with a price "for 5 or more upgrades(assuming all in same place) would be £150 each" That's a very good price. It's possible he would be willing to travel to a meet etc. Stubs |

I was at Executive Motoring Services in Kent yesterday having my IPK fitted.
While I was there Ralph mentioned a customer of his had is fuel pump replaced at a BMW garage. While they were doing that they had to do something with the ECU. They connected it to a BMW computer and the computer did a bit of a wobbler. It basically thought the mapping was wrong and corrected it with a reflash. The result. A rover 75 with the BMW engine Mapping and no need for the X-Power upgrade. Obviously the customer was happy. Perhaps this is an option for the CDT owners. Just get the BMW Mappings for the engine.

I should point out that if you use the BMW system and successfully remap the ECU to a BMW-spec then when you next connect a T4 to your car the T4 may see that the engine map is incorrect for your VIN data and then accordingly re-write the map back to default setting according to the VIN information.
Be careful out there. |

Keith Alexander mentioned this to me when he was doing a T4 session on mine last year, as mine has the upsolute remap he said if i ever had another T4 session with anyone else I had to tell them that mine was remapped otherwise it would re flash mine back to the basic settings,
