Question BM24 Temperature Problems???

Hi Everyone,
I've recently fitted a BM24 purchased on Ebay as the second step in my upgrade. I fitted it on the Saturday, straight swap, simple enough!
I'm up early on Sunday and off to play golf, as I drive through the village I hit a bump...off it goes... no CD,radio, tape or anything, as I continue the journey it comes on and off intermittently and when there's no music there's a phht, phht sound in the RIGHT REAR speaker, as though a wire is shorting out!!

This has continued all week, the problem always worse in the early morning or late at night. Obviously I'm going to put my original tuner back and I expect that to resolve the problem..

So.... I know the video module behaves erratically in low temp'. Does anyone else have any similar experience? Could it be a dry joint issue. .
Can anyone tell me where I may get it checked? The monitor I have has CD behind so I'll loose control of my CD changer if I fit it without the BM24.

Thanks in advance!!

Regards

Interesting, the TV tuner can overheat hence the fan but the radio tends to be ok as is.

First thing to do is double check the big plug is latched in properly.
The pcb is fairly easy to get at to go dry joint hunting but otherwise you will need to send it to somewhere like Becker in Germany for repair!

Hi Keith,
Thanks for the reply. I've discounted the possibility of it being the plug or the speaker because when I'm driving about during the day, it doesn't miss a beat. The problem only seems to occur early morning or late evening which is why I wondered if it was a temperature thing... :
