Blimey. That's a project and a half!

Have you considered actual windscreen replacement companies to source a new 'screen from? I seem to recall a debate not so long ago regarding a new screen and whether or not there was a difference between the rain sensor models and others. I think the answer was "yes there is". Worth a shot!

Hat's off to you and all the best in finding what you need. Sorry I can't be of too much help.

Quality - makes my radiator fitting escapade look quite tame - well done.

Just a pointer.............

But in the first picture, I think one the handbrake bolts is slightly loose, you might want to tighten it up a little....

I take my metaphorical hat off to you, especially if the above is all you need to ask in order to get the car back on the road!!!

Seriously though, what a great project - best of luck and do let's have regular updates and pics of your progress.

Well done mate would have been a waste to scrap it though. Have you looked in Autotrader for Rover/MG specific scrap yards. I know its a long way away but you could try World of Rover on 01204366630 (Bolton) Ive not been but recommended to me.
