Yes, mine is a G5 IPOD and the speed is tremendous, no delay at all. With the USB connection it really is as fast as using the IPOD directly In fact, it is actually faster than I can operate the IPOD with my clumsy fingers. I listen to classical music so most of my listening is by playlist (for example when listening the the 'Ring' cycle by Wagner, which is a playlist totalling some 11 cds worth of music). I have approximately 120 playlists and I am able to scoot through them very quickly. I know it's an added expense for you but IMO, the IDA-X001 can only really be seen at it's best when using an IPOD on the USB link. I now have the bluetooth phone function working and made a few test calls to the answering machine at home. The phone audio is perfectly clear and you really cannot tell that the call was made from inside a diesel engined car driving at approximately 60 mph. Overall, I have to say that I am impressed BTW - good idea of yours, making the manual A5 size - thanks Last edited by Raistlin; 16th May 2007 at 12:34.. |

A 5G ipod has been on the shopping list for some time, but the next generation ipods should be just around the corner so I'll wait a month or two. Not that I'm going for the new generation but because that's the time for making killer deals on the older generation.
How and where did you wire the microphone for the bluetooth kit?

Microphone fits quite successfully in the interior light fitting, taking advantage of the OEM microphone grille.
The wire runs down the A pillar and under the dashboard, thence into the centre console. The end result being that the microphone is completely concealed. Last edited by Raistlin; 16th May 2007 at 13:24.. |
