Default Check the Cable Clamps

So not sure if it's working.

Does it illuminate when you are on a major route and then show bars depending on the block?

Any help/guidance gladly received!

Cheers,

Michael T

Michael, I too couldn't get a splash screen when I first installed the unit, but I quickly found that it was because I hadn't applied enough pressure to the clamps which spice the cabling together.

I was so concerned that I might press too hard, and cut the existing wire in half that I only applied finger pressure and it simply failed to make contact.

I then went back, and used a pair of pliers to clamp the connectors down hard, till the tops were sitting flush with the rest of it and it solved the problem for me straight away.

Worth a check perhaps?

Reebs,

You're a star! (results posted below). I'd done the same as you, I thought they worked like a Scotch Lock, but when it "clicked" I thought oh, job done. How wrong was I!

Cheers,

Michael T

I've just fitted it to my diesel, glow plug icon first, when it goes out, then trafficmaster splash screen.

Mine will ultimately be routed to the centre console position where the traction control switch would normally be.

All I need to acquire is a 5 switch panel and one of the switches with a simple on / off function.

Alternatively, the area by the driver's knee cubby hole might be useful for locating a small and unobtrusive switch

Yep

My TM log comes up straight after the glow plug text.

Default Exclamation

I was interested to see the vertical lines you're getting to the right of the 'pyramid' symbol in your message centre display. They should be exclamation marks but I get similar corruption! Is your car a 1999 model by any chance? My splash screen and mini TM icon are readable but with a few spurious pixels added, rather like the bottom left corner of your pyramids, so I got through to someone technical at Pektron, the manufacturer of the TM module, who told me that it is the car's instrument pack which creates the graphics so he thought that the imperfect display was a software issue with the car rather than a fault with the module or installation. As it's working perfectly well (apart from the exclamation marks), and the last software upgrade I had involved paying £70 for no gain, I decided to leave it alone.
