Question Radio Distortion

For a few days last week when I put my radio on it was hissing and sounding as if it was slightly off the station, when I turned of the heated rear screen it went back to normal. Any thoughts? it appears to be ok now.

If im right i think the radio aerial is in the back window..sometimes you get distortion/interference from the demister due to wiring.

Possible loose connection where it attaches to the inbuilt windscreen arial. The window heat may have just expanded the window a micro distance and bingo touching again. Not sure how you would check but I am sure it would be worth pushing the plug if it happens again. Sounds like a wiring issue somewhere in the signal line though.
Rover 75 faults are like bird migration, can't always be explained but somehow it all works out! ;-)

When I was fitting my rear electric blind I noticed the soldering was not great so I re-soldered mine. All my radio problems went away.

Scratches in the element can cause the same symptom. Are any of your elements not working properly, or any that have hot spots? Remember you can't see the lower ones from inside the car.

A dab of silver paint cured these problems for me.
