Default Trailer board electrics

I need to put a plug, probably in the boot or under the bumper so I can put a tarailer board on my bike hanging off the tailgate rack.

Does anyone have a "how to" or a wiring diagram for this? Is there a MGRover kit?

Is there likely to be an easy fit to a loom already present on my 2004 Mk2 ZTT CDti+?

There is a Rover kit - do not have the number at hand. You can choose between the 'UK' type 7 pin sockets and the contiental 13 pin sockets.

The kit wires to the fuse board at the front of the car and picks up the lights via scotchlok type connectors.

If you have the IPK this shows up 'trailer' bulb failures.

The kit comes with the normal Rover pictorial installation guide.

The wiring will be the same as the towbar electrics, about which there's much on here, it's just the position of the socket you'll have to sort, as it's usually bolted to the towbar ironwork.

OEM seems to be the easiest, according to comments on here, but I used a cheapy single socket set, with a Transflex(??? my memory has let me down) relay from TowbarsDirect for about £20, which protects the car's circuits - bulb failure etc, and provides the legally-required trailer indicator warning buzzer or optional lamp.
