It's up to you Lee but I have serious doubts about this diagnosis. It's a wild guess isn't it. What positive evidence is there? It seems to be a case of 'we don't think it's the head gasket or the oil cooler so it must be a cracked block'. Hmmm.
But more importantly, the block is cast iron. Unless the coolant is plain water and froze, I can't think what could have happened to crack it.

invested my £30 and introduced it to the cooling system saturday morning.... flushed cooling system through and followed the instructions to the letter....

went for a good drive sunday afternoon running perfectly, drove around for over an hour and temperature was fine blowing hot air continually......

let it cool off again.... just checked the water level and it hasn,t moved....

so far so good.......
That's interesting - keep us informed of how it goes. My daughter has an old VW LT35 Horsebox and it has a similar problem.

Previous owner had a reconditioned head put on and it is still the same. There is no oil cooler so it can only really be the block.

We bought it very cheap as the owner was honest about the problem And at the price I'm happy to either put another engine in, or as other parts for these vehicles are starting to get hard to come by, swap the horsebox onto another chassis.

But it might be worth giving the Steel Seal a punt although we only get oil in the water, not vice versa, so not sure if it can seal when its on the lower pressure side of the leak.
