Default Central Locking

A different thread about doors not opening prompted me to enquire about this potential issue.
Great security measure for unlocking: by pressing the unlock button on the remote once (correctly) unlocks just the drivers door, pressing twice then opens other doors .... EXCEPT the passenger front door. If I press it a third time it unlocks OK. Is that part normal?

No, in a nutshell it's not normal, with the locking setting programmed by T4 first press drivers door, second press, passenger doors.

The passenger door locking solenoid is becoming lazy, and complete failure will occur.

Could just be getting sticky with age.

A squirt of WD 40 could cure the problem and can't do any harm. Cheap too.

My rear off side door lock was changed some time ago and now,
Turn 1 drivers door unlocks
Turn 2 both near side doors unlock
Turn 3 off side rear door unlocks.
Inside switch opens all the locks.
This is with the key and not remote, which does not operate at all.

The remote has never worked since I have had the car, though I did change the battery when I first got it.
The key I think is a replacement one and has not been programed to the car.
In among the documents I have found a tag marked with a bar code and written on it is "New key".
From this I suspect a previous bought a new key but never had it programed to the car.

Noticed this evening that the switch inside the car unlocks the drivers door ok, just seems lazy when using the remote.
Where should I squirt WD40 (We'll have non of that thank you! ), in the lock itself?

I think I read that to program the key to the car, after fitting a new battery, you stood near the car and held the remote button down for more than 4 seconds.

Colvert.
Pressing the unlock button for more four seconds would open the boot on a facelift.
