This offer has ended end of June by the looks of it
The £50.00 rebate on the 400D is the only one to be extended and that is till the end of August, all the other offers have now finished. .

Thumbs up Lumix

Hi Martin,
Glad to see your pleased with your purchase!! A very good choice in my opinion!!

I have been a keen photographer for many years and I have a couple of camera's, several flash guns and every lens from 28mm to 500mm with all the motor drives and accessories that go with them. All paid for by selling my work!!!::lol: The only thing I'm lacking these days is the Donkey I need to carry it when I go on a shoot!! (which I don't)

So, when I looked at this camera with all the exposure control you'd expect from a decent SLR with a massive 12 times Leica zoom to boot I was impressed and felt that It was in effect an SLR that would fit in my pocket for the price of ONE decent lens. The only thing that stopped me buying one was the lack of a remote release.

To be fair, I didn't give the model number but I felt it would be the ideal camera for someone progressing from a compact without all the expense that goes with the SLR bug!!

You may want to have a look here then if you want to save a bit, especially if you're happy to go for a slightly older model, e.g. they're selling the 7.5MP Olympus E-330 for just £299.

I am one of those who would go the compact route.Having had a Canon t 90 some years ago in the days of 35 mm I couldn't fault it.However it's specification exceeded what the printers could reproduce. And how many times did the perfect photo appear only for me not to have had the camera due to it's bulk.

My canon compact is 6.0 megapixel and has full manual overide. For an enthusiastic amateur it does the job.
