The V8’s one moves rather quickly. Usually downwards.

The fuel gauge worked, when your IPK was in my car

I remember putting a £10 note behind my daughter's sun visor when she passed her test and telling her "That's for emergency fuel only!"

A couple of weeks later, the tenner had gone! "I said emergency fuel only. Where's the tenner?" I asked. "McDonalds" was the reply!

December has been a turning point for my car as at the beginning of the month I had front control arms, bushes, drop links, lower engine mount and track rod ends changed due to the car having a lot of slop in the suspension and clonking on selecting D or R.

Having all these items changed at once by a decent Chatteris Garage made the car as tight as you could imagine and the best feel of all 3 of my Rover75’s owned. I was very happy and so were my passengers. There was however a small amount of vibration coming through to the interior and I pretty much, with a lot of homework on here, knew who the culprit was.

Yesterday I ventured out to gift the car a few more items.

All I can say is WOW!!!!

After changing just three components on my car yesterday I can honestly say it’s like I just went out and bought a new car.

1/The correct lower engine mount, 2/the hydra mount and 3/ the Bosch MAF combined to make my diesel tourer as smooth if not smoother than my V6 I sold in the spring with far more tourque and better mpg.

Yes gets a little pricey but my car gets Xmas pressies as well and rewards me with excellent service!

Before I had some vibes coming through the cabin after having fitted DMGRS dual purpose mount at the beginning of December. Although Matt markets it as suitable for the diesel, I do not recommend this Chinese TuoPu 136a item on the diesel at all. There is not enough jiggle space within the rubbers (4mm gap) and it was clearly hitting the rear cushion sending vibes all over the place on my diesel.
The correct one on the right with a letter M on it.

The hydra mount removed seemed to be ok with only 64000 miles under its belt, but the new Genuine one has just flattened out any resonance remaining between the engine and bodywork.
I know all our cars are different so maybe I got lucky as I bough a very low miler.

Now beforehand I had a slightly uneven/lumpy idle on start up which would go away when hot.
A T4 session in the summer showed up very close injector figures so I got used to it. But now the new MAF is in, the car is transformed,,, it has smoothness all the way from cold to 90 degrees. Lots more pull in lower speed range. It truly feels like a BMW 6 cylinder for smoothness and not far off the pull!

Smiles all round!!!

So for December I have spent a total of £714 on the old girl, but she is worth every penny!

Next on my list in the new year is a auto box fluid flush and change. I shall be using this excellent most British of fluids from Westway Lubricants in the West Midlands.

Sonly moneyyyyyyyy!!!!
