You can buy the hardwiring kit for about £10 from eBay, it just plugs into a vacant slot in your fuse box. Dead easy.

Put T4 on the tourer to check the T4 interface was working. Helped a friend out today by coding two new SCU fobs to his MG and whilst tidying everything up the interface got knocked onto the floor! Luckily everything is fine albeit a few codes on the tourer that need looked at when I get some more time....

To fit my two camera’s,one in the back, the other in the front. First I undid the two little plastic turn buckles that hold the little cover under the glovebox up ,pull it down, a bit awkward because it catches on the right hand side. You will notice that there is room for a three socket auxiliary connection on the right hand side under there. I connected my two camera’s and my satnav to the three socket’s. Run the wires where you want them.Easy peasy. Been like that for around three four years now.

Had to fork out for a new battery after the wife phones me from the drive (I'm in the house by the way !) to say the car won't start and she needs to get to work. I had a feeling the battery was on the way out as last weekend it was a little slower to crank but she is the sole driver as I can't drive for 3 months due to an obstructive sleep apnoea diagnosis , she's used the car all week without fault. Now this is where she amazes me , the car started but she said a yellow warning was on the dash then went off so she switched off the car and it wouldn't restart. I got in and the wipers were moving slowly ,the starter clicking , the heater fan on full blast and the lights on so the weak battery didn't stand a chance. My tourer is in the paintshop so we had no second car to fall back on.

Rather than wait for my breakdown company who I work for and as I'm on the sick, I didn't want one of our patrols to attend and for me to be gossiped about so I got my best mate to jump start me and check the alternator output which was spot on so he gave me a lift to collect a new Bosch battery from our part supplier and we changed it and all is well again.

After quizzing her about this mysterious yellow warning that I couldn't replicate .I eventually found out it was the glow plug warning message that appears on every start up and she said she'd never noticed it before . We've owned this car with the IPK for two years !

When she drives the tourer which is a manual , she doesn't press the button as you describe when pulling on the handbrake and she sits with the clutch pedal depressed no matter how many times I feel brave enough to tell her . With the amount of clutch failures we've had you think the penny would have dropped. My favourite observation is that she thinks that if you put the heater on, heat should be immediately there which is why she has the blower always on high ! She is a professional lady with over 20 years of driving experience !

ps I've mentioned this to my mate and his wife is exactly the same !

pps My experienced ear was right about my battery. I've checked it with a midtronic battery tester and as a 760 amp EN 096 battery it measured 270 amps @ 12.48 volts.

Default KV6 oil levels.

Checked the oil on the ZT and then in spite of all the instructions official, and members input I am down the "is it low/high etc" story. Don't bother to advise me on this one its just one of lifes little mysteries. Its a KV6 engine. Chris S.
