Default Sending to the Netherlands?

Just a quick question for anyone who has recently sent anything to the Netherlands. I've sold something and booked postage, included with the postage label is a customs declaration, but I didn't think you needed to do a customs declaration if you were sending within the EU, and according to the Royal Mail website I'm right, and I shouldn't need one. But the postage was booked with Royal Mail and they've supplied the declaration.

If you've sent anything to the Netherlands, had you had to include a customs declaration?

Cool

I've sent club stock to the Netherlands, but have not had to put on a custom declaration. Only if sending out of the EU the custom label goes on.

Could it be that as we are coming out of the EU we will need to do this now?

That was my understanding, and from what I’ve read, if there’s no deal after this ‘transition’ period, yes we’ll have to do customs declarations. Everything I’ve found says I don’t need to complete one, so I was puzzled why when I printed the postage label, it also printed a customs declaration, with most details auto filled, just leaving me to tick for gift or goods sold etc, and sign it.

I messaged the buyer and he says nothing else he’s ordered has come with a customs slip, so I’ll send it without. Just didn’t want it to get held up for the lack of one.
