New forum member here. I moved to Dublin and took our UK-registered Rover 75 V6 Tourer with me. I have a bit of of an issue with the starter motor (won't turn) and bonnet (won't open).
Can anybody recommend a good mechanic in the Dublin area? |

A PM is en-route regarding the bonnet opening.... As for the other issue do a search in titles, as this issue has been discussed a few times

Hi Nils,
Ryans of Blanchardstown were/ are a main dealer and have a T4. There's usually a few 75s outside their garage in for work. Maybe they can help, but of course will charge main dealer prices. I've used them for the T4 to help with fault finding, and they were fine. For my bigger repairs, I use (along with a few other here in the Kildare area) use LS Motors in Newbridge. Don't be stuck, send ,me a PM if you like. Cheers, Rich

Hi new member here from Cork. Not an owner yet but determined to be a 75 tourer CTDi owner sooner rather than later.

Welcome Pat. What's the situation with importing cars into RoI these days - is there still a hefty registration tax to pay even on used motors?

From a little research it seems around 600 euro for what I want IE a diesel tourer. I guess the currency exchange rate takes the sting out of it at the moment. The main thing though is they are simply none for sale in RoI so no option but to look in UK and it seems in general cars are looked after better there better roads etc.

Ouch, €600 extra on the price of a car is a bit of a kicker! One benefit of course is that the MOT is an annual test, as opposed to the bi-annual NCT so there's less likelihood of you encountering a car that hasn't had a proper roadworthiness inspection for up to two years. However I've heard that the NCT can be even more stringent.
As it happens, I'm hopefully going to be looking at a tourer for myself shortly, but if I hear of any others up this end I'll keep you in mind. Have you your heart set on a tourer or would you consider a saloon as well?

Andy do keep an eye out would appreciate that. Yes definitely tourer. We travel a lot with family to mobile home in Kerry so lots of travel with lots of stuff. Also I fish a lot and can leave rods up in the estate. Also the tourer just looks so good!
