Basic DD unit with BT reversing camera please?
I am toying with the idea of fitting a DD unit to the old tractor. I'm not massively fussy about the latest of everything - my main reasons for contemplating it are:
(1) satnav on a screen rather than my phone (Android) (2) I'd REALLY like one of those systems fitted to modern cars which show you a panoramic view of what's behind you when reversing, with guidelines which move from side to side as you proceed. I also need to use it as a radio, to make phone calls, and stream music from my phone - but I'm guessing they all do that One thing I don't want to have to do is lift carpets to run cables etc, but i understand you can get bluetooth reversing cameras, so I'd need a unit which would work that way. Any recommendations please? Happy to have 2nd hand if anybody's upgrading PS about 10 years ago I had a VERY bad experience with a unit purchased from a trader here (seems he's gone now), so maybe I should say that the unit needs to fit in the hole without my having to take a file and hacksaw to the dash, and boot up in less than 30 seconds when I turn the ignition on

Well, I bought one; an ERISIN ES2746B. Watched some Youtubes, and you seem to get a lot for your money. I'm going to record my experiences here, in case they help anybody in the future.
Although I'm fine with basic electronics, wiring etc, I know very little about ICE, so if there are mistakes to be made, I expect to make them but hopefully that too will help other novices. First... dealing with Erisin has been no fun at all. They communicated with you quickly when trying to sell you something, but ignore technical questions. I suppose YGWYPF (you get what you pay for). As soon as I placed the order, they emailed me to say I would need an additional cable to connect it to the Rover. You could maybe argue the point but, for me, if something is advertised as being suitable for a particular car, it shouldn't need extra parts to make it so. £15 added to cost.

OK, unit received. Again, maybe I'm being picky, but I don't think it should take a courier a week to deliver something at a cost of £12. But one of the very few advantages of ageing is that you acquire a little more patience.
Of course, the package includes neither the £15 cable, nor the rear camera I'd included in the original order. I can also see that there isn't what I'd consider to be a standard aerial socket (female ISO I think it's called), so I have to order something called a FAKRA adapter...

Camera arrived yesterday - separate courier. Up to them how they run their business, I suppose, but it seems a bit wasteful. And they could advise customers that everything will ship separately.
I emailed them when the head unit arrived all on its own last week, and have just received this reply: "Hi, Rover cable we need to produce it extra and after finishing then we send it out from China warehouse to you." So who knows when that will arrive

Oh, a bit early to say mate... I'm still waiting for the cable, so no progress I'm afraid On the face of it (and 1 or 2 YT reviews) you get a lot of unit for your money - be assured I will post updates as and when there are any I'm sure if you spent a small fortune on a better-known brand life would be easier...

Well, received the new harness at last... but I don't understand how to use it, as it only has one Steering Wheel Control wire, and I need two
The original wiring which came with the unit had two in a separate, smaller harness -with this new one, the main and smaller ones are combined, and one of the SWC wires goes into the ISO connector, rather than being available for connection I've asked them what I should do... Also, as I believe to be the case with many if not all of this type of head unit, I find that I have to saw some lugs off the unit to get it fit in a Rover

Thanks - earthing one of them would have been my next guess, but nice to have it confirmed
But I'd have to cut one of them... I probably didn't explain it very well, but one of the SWC wires coming out of the little white 12-way connector which goes into the head unit then proceeds into pin A2 on the ISO block, which then obviously connects to the two corresponding connectors in the Rover, so I don't have an end to connect to anything Hang on, will get a pic - so the two SWC wires come out of connector A. One of them is available for connection to the wheel switches, but the other one goes off into the ISO connector...

Or am I missing the obvious... do you mean the 2nd wire from the steering wheel to be earthed ?
