Default Annual owners day

I wish to extend an invite for you all to attend the Tollymore MG & Rover casual meet and annual event.

Date - Sunday 18th August 2019
Time - Midday until 16.30
Location - Tollymore Forrest Park
Cost - £5.00 (all goes to Tollymore)
No entry forms are required and will be provided on the day

All MG, Rover, and MG Rover cars are welcome obviously. Any vehicle with a link to British Leyland, BMC and finally Rover Ltd is also welcome, this includes but is not limited to....

Mini (pre BMW)
Land Rover / Range Rover
Jaguar
Austin
Morris
Riley
Etc

Finally likes of kit cars or cars using Rover engines also.

Invitations have been sent to classic rover club ni, mini club ni, morris owners club, rover enthusiasts Ireland, jaguar mg car club ni, mg owners club ni, land rover club ni and a few others who we hope will come down to join on the day.

We will have two designated photographers this years also on the day John Jeffery and Konrad Rajchel also.

Remember this is not a car show, just a casual event and one which many people travel to enjoy the length of Ireland. However for some fun there are awards this year with entry forms being provided when you turn up.

Judging for almost all categories will not be based on concours rules but on overall cleanliness or desirability even if odd paint mark or kerbed alloy etc.

Trophy presentation will be at 3.30pm ish and judging begins at 2pm and if your still not there at 3.30pm your award will be given to another vehicle and it will be invited into the winners circle for photos etc

I've asked the chairman of the Classic Rover club ni will be judging the mg category and the MG car club chairman will be judging best Rover catagory, with myself having final say on any split decisions as they will both be judging other catagories jointly. So remember in true Stormont tradition bribes are very welcome and accepted, preferably in form of cold hard cash, cakes or tin of Coke.

Categories are as follows

Classic MG of the day (pre 1995)
Classic Rover of the day (pre 1995)
None MG / Rover of the day (all ages)
Modern MG of the day (1995 onwards)
Modern Rover of the day (1995 onwards)
Car of the day
Lady drivers car of the day
Mg Rover enthusiast of the day

And two more special awards secret until the event!

Please note that Car of the day will be for best car in presentation and condition and is the exception to the rules.

Also no one will be able to win twice to ensure every chance for all.

The lady owner / driver award is simply for anyone who ticks a box on the owners sheet and we ask people not to abuse it. This might be a good excuse to get your other half to bring down a 2nd vehicle on the day doubling award chances.

The enthusiasm award will be judged on those who bring the most flair to their vehicle and themselves, so scale models, dealership signs, clothing, flags, along with other factors like multiple vehicles in attendance and distance driven.

Should the worst happen with weather we have a back up plan in place for the courtyard in Tollymore with 500 spaces, so even should it rain the night before and be dry on the Sunday, everything will go ahead regardless.

None BMC / BL / MG Rover cars will have a separate parking section of shame so should you wish to bring family members or friends along they are very welcome but they will have to park with the lesser vehicles.

I look forward to seing many of you there, and please remember to follow speed limits when in the Forrest as there have been safety cameras in place now along with electric gates for access / exit.

Please feel free to contact me at any stage should you need more info.or check out the Facebook link below.
