Cool Unusual Boot lock activity

Help please peeps i was cleaning the car today(as i cant drive it due to cambelt ) and when i press the interior boot unlock button well the way i can only describe it is like a machine gun instead of just one clonk there were several rapid fire and it will not unlock only by key?

When I had the same problem with the bootlid on my 75 it was the rubber stoppers that needed adjusting and then no more noise on unlocking the bootlid.

Its that time of year again lol

I think the rubber that the boot lid stoppers are made from gets harder as the weather gets colder. This means they don't give the initial push to un latch the lock.

Mine used to do it every year until I fitted the auto boot lift kit.

Agreed, rubber stopper adjustment.

Had this on my 260 & come across it many times now.

Strangely its something that never bothered my 75 but my ZT suffers from the weather syndrome! I haven't had to adjust the stops yet but fully expect to soon.

Excellent mod, makes the nasty machine gun sound go away for good and you get to pose as you effortlessly open the boot lid from the drivers seat
