Default Driver electric window repair?

Hello all,

Our drivers window when you press down or up it makes a noise but the window doesn't move. I expect there is a problem with the mechanism. Has anyone had this problem, fixed it and is it a easy job to do or do I need help?

I'm going to France to watch Jean Michel Jarre play live, in mid June and know customs on the way out or in maybe overly interested to why our window doesn't go down resulting in a our door been forcibly opened to check for illegal items! (this is paranoia but I know it has happened to people!)

easy repair if you're handy with the spanners... took less than an hour to strip the door, repair the mechanism and put it all back together.

One of these should do the job

Or you could just get a second hand motor from one of the club breakers Stuart. its not hard, door card off, peel back insulation. you will see the motor at the bottom of the door, not sure if it comes off the mechanism separately,,but if not, the winder mechanism is just a few 10mm bolts. You will need to remove the front guide for the window, and remove the glass though if you have to replace the whole mechanism.

Just checked Rimmers, its not available separately Stuart but the attached diagram will give you an insight as to what's involved.

Spongeh is right with the link. If you can hear motor working it will be a snapped cable. That kit works fine but can be a little fiddlly.
