John Howard passed away in his sleep last night
Just had a call from GusV who advised me that John Howard passed away in his sleep last night. He referred me to a post from Karen, his Stepdaughter, on John's Facebook page.
"Dear family and friends of John, I regretfully need to inform you that John sadly died in his sleep last night. He will be greatly missed by all his family, especially the love of his life Mo, his step children and adored grandchildren. Karen (step daughter). RIP John xxx" This is my reply below. So sorry to hear your news about John. Had breakfast with him at The Ugly Duckling on Sunday morning and he was in fine form as usual. On behalf of the 75 and Zt Owners Club our deepest condolences to you and the family. R.I.P. John. A hard act to follow. John was the driving force and superb organiser for the Alan Jay Memorial Meet at the MacMillan Car Show which is on Sunday. I will post something on the Events and Meets shortly. harrisop48 Joint Regional Secretary London South & West shiner Joint Regional Secretary London South & West Last edited by harrisop48; 5th July 2018 at 18:30.. |

To say I'm shocked would be a massive understatement. John seemed in fine form at breakfast last Sunday, it really doesn't seem possible. So, so sorry to hear this dreadful news.
My thoughts go out to his family. Really, I'm quite lost for words at the moment. Cliff

Our Deepest sympathy goes out to Johns family, a true gent and a stalwart of our club, Dawn and I are deeply saddened on hearing this news, we were so looking forward to seeing him again at the Clandon meet for the Macmillan cancer charity, and named it the Alan Jay memorial meet.
RIP John you will be missed. Dawn and Julien |

I have corrected my original post and confirmed the Alan Jay Memorial Clandon Meet is on Sunday.
Also PM'd Rev Jules, Teflon, Nobby and keithst24 who are all exhibiting. If anyone else is free to exhibit these fine Marques please let me know. I will contact John's family on Monday so they can advise me of Funeral details when known, will then post on the Forum. |
