Default Tax and insurance

Hi guys, just wondering how much does the tax and insurance cost for a rover 75. I would like to buy one but my wife says the cost would be too much to be sat on the drive and only used occasionally already having an astra and being a retired mechanic costs that way would be parts only. Thanks

You can get cheap insurance for occasional use....my ZT 180 2.5V6 is insured for 5000 miles a year and costs less than £200 pa.

we cannot advise on insurance cost as there are so many factors about you we don't know and also which 75. Do an online quote, look at ebay and get a few registration numbers from various models
re tax, what 75 are you considering petrol, if so what engine or diesel?

Insurance depends on so many factors as I'm sure you know, but there is one thing you can do to keep the cost down, and that is... opt for a start date at least 3 days forward of the day of the quotation, sometimes this has been proven to reduce the premium by £50+.

Never start the policy straight away, you will pay more this way.

£135 for my 190 ZT.

£315 Road Tax.

Just do a quote on a comparison website, naturally shopping around will get you a bit lower but you should have a ball park figure.

Tax is about £200-250 depending on engine

Hi, if you are over 50 see what Saga will quote you. I have mine with Saga and have to say they are pretty good. The Rover 75 is about £180 a year and the MG ZT is just on £200 and a bit. I have them both with max 5000 miles and social and pleasure only for the use - i.e. not for work or anything else. But the Rovers are as cheap as anything for insurance as the cars themselves are not valued very highly and not the object of desire for car thieves (yet!).

I really would like to know how you guys manage to find cheap insurances as far as Sags is concerned they want £586 fully comp for my 2004 Diesel.

Thanks for all the replies, some helpful info there. Did not know that you could limit the amount of mileage to get cheeper insurance.
