Default I have noticed a quiet revolution.....

.... On the streets around here....
It started with an A registered Orion. Soon I saw a Mk 1 escort- scruffy but useable. Then an allegro appeared, deep brown and replete with 1970's extras like go faster stripes, square front plate and big front spots. Now someone is driving around in an old Austin, and the other day I spotted what looked like a mint Humber Sceptre hiding in a garage. There are 3 Mercedes 190's I know if in a 2 mile radius, and someone nearby has a Marina... Are people getting bored of their moderns?
Here's a pic of the Marina by the way- at a local car show last year... Can't take pics of the others as it seems a bit rude outside peoples homes!

That looks quite nice, not sure some of the others will like it but I do

Guy next door to me commutes every day on a 64 Vespa. Next chap down has a Singer Gazelle and a Singer 9
Weekends often involve pottering between garages in search of the right size hammer for the job in hand.

It clearly has an owner who has treasured it. And that I respect - whatever type of vehicle it is.

It looks fantastic.

I too have noticed a lot more 'retro' cars about. I see a lot of old Jap stuff with young drivers in them, lowered, fat wheels, big exhaust etc.
These things seem to be cool nowadays and rightly so It seemed to start with a love of 70/80s VWs and has filtered through to some other marques.
I'd sooner see a slammed Allegro with Minilites than a Corsa any day
Metros are appearing again too. There's a lovely Mk2 City X near to me, slightly lowered with fat Superlight alloys, the rest is totally standard including the tasty brown interior

That Marina is superb, love it!

I have seen Minis with special sub frames and are fitted with K series or Honda engines. How about an Allegro with Civic Type R running gear with sorted suspension and brakes. Keep it completely standard looking, steel wheels, even that lovely 70's beige colour. Ultimate sleeper!

I was in Lidl's on Saturday and when I came out there was Mk I Nissan Skyline in bright yellow, it looked in fabulous condition.
I watched it drive away with a young woman at the wheel, sounded nice as well.
