It is the 3 speed fan. I will check out arctics posts on it see where I go from there. is it easy to wire in 2 speed fan, what with having the resistor on this one & not on the old one.

you might also need a new condensor. I had a 3 speed fan failure and was replaced with the jules 2 speed one, but the condensor fins had turned to powder over the years ( i brushed them with a prod and they just disintegrated ). Mr Jules supplied a new condensor as well but at that point, it became a non-diy job.

I have new low cost kits now (£139) but high quality waterproof 2 speed motors which sit away from the hot running condensers.

The design the R40 should have been fitted with in the 1st place.

Front mounted motor



Showing ample clearance.

1. Plenum drains..all 3 or 4 year dependent
2. Cooling fan..All speeds functioning
3. Bonnet cable divider block

Looks like we also did the OEM stat & your 2 belts (long spanner on top of engine)

Jules, what comes in the kit for £139. Thinking about buying it & getting the garage to fit it.

Hi Jules.
Fantastic news yet another great item to your stable are these fixed to the existing cowling or do they have a cowling of there own, if the existing how many fixing points and where, I think I may well need a condenser soon also cheers Actic

Yes Steve fixed to existing cowling but with the benefit of it's own cowling which acts as a superb stone guard which the OEM fan didn't have.

Been on one of my test cars for nearly a year now and works a treat
