Default Xpower upgrade reduced to 55 plus vat really ?

" Xpart are please to announce that from 1st August the Xpower diesel upgrade will now retail at £55.00 + vat.
This is a significant cost saving to the customer. The old retail price was £199.00 + vat.

This is available at all our Auto Service Centers and retail outlets.
Part number is VUF000010 "

So what does that mean can nayone asssit am I isinterpreting this 'bargain' or is this some kind of front price.

On seeing the post , I E-Mailed my nearest XPart service centre for a quote and was quoted 168 pounds , so I dont really see what Xpower upgrade reduced from £199 plus vat to £55 plus vat (or £66) means if you cant actually buy it ?

I did E-Mail the Xpower chap on the forum but havn't had a response.

Thanks

Mas

You still have to pay for a T4 session to enable it. Its still cheaper to get the upgrade via one of the clubs T4 traders.

This is my point why post its 55 plus vat if you cant buy it for 66 pounds and use it ?

If you advertised something for 66 pounds that you couldnt use unless you paid 168 then trading standards woukd be knocking on your door wouldnt tbey, i find it a little irritating tbh

I am looking into this because maybe there is some confusion in the network.
The £55 + is supposed to be to the end user ( car owner ).
Dealers will charge to program it in but not everyone decides or needs it to be done there and then.
It should only take about 3/4 hour on T4. ( roughly )

As per my p.m im not wishing to be rude but upgrade at time of purchase or not is a poor excuse.
If i wanted it next week id go and buy it next week or next year maybe ots a software upgrade its not like you can run out of stock.

If you advertise an upgrade for 66 pounds it must be 66 pounds not 66 pounds plus an unspecified ammou t of labour. An upgrade is a service in itself and not a part that needs fitting !

You are buying the disk and unlock code as per the part No. They send it out to you as if you ordered a replacement part. It then become your responsibility as to what you do with it. If you ask a dealer to order it on your behalf and then upgrade your car then that will be the price of the part and the cost of fitment. Just because it is software it still is a part that needs fitting. Simples. Xpart are not advertising an xpower upgrade, mearly the software to enable you to do it.

I read the listing on this forum, but that is not the same as an official xpart advert. I think the thread you are refering to is worded badly and needs clarification. If you order the part No stated all you will receive is the disk. The old price was also just for a disk and unlock code, so in effect all that has happened is xpart have reduced to price of the disk. It should read xpower upgrade disk cost reduced to £55 plus vat.
Perhaps the originator can amend to clarify the situation.
