ECU & cam sensor removal
Following on from my previous posts about my starting problem, I want to do 2 things:
1. Check that the ECU has never been flooded, and that its connections, earth etc are good; 2. Maybe change the cam sensor. Are they both easily accessible and removable? Any tips please? Thanks |

Just be very careful not to damage any of the connector pins when removeing or replacing. That will get expensive. as yours is a diesel, also check the connector pins for the glow plug relay. just below the ecu. They can cause all sorts of grief like wipers coming on when you switch off for instance

Cam sensor is not difficult. Just unbolt the cover over the engine. It is located left (standing in front of the car, looking at the engine) of the injectors, close to the oil filler cap. An electrical connector and one bolt holding it.
If you do a search on the forums for cam sensor you get a lot of information. Rob
