MG John had an MG6 engine fitted to one of his cars. Try sending him a PM and see what he says.

Thanks Bogbrush82. I'm afraid John was one of the many respected Rover-guru's that never replied to my PM's.

Chris Flanagan at Retro sports cars. I think he has already done this conversion. I know he converted an MG6 to automatic using a 75/ZT gearbox.
He was excellent with a problem with my car. SJR |

Thanks Sjr, he was already mentioned by somebody on Facebook a few months ago. But I can always try again. He never replied to any of my mails either.

Almost 1 month went passed. Emailed everybody that was mentioned. Tried to call most. Even emailed a few i found via google.
I got.... 1 reply, saying they couldn't help me. 1 person bothered to pick up the phone saying they don't do K-series engines. Is there a thing against Dutch people? Do mechanics hate male 75 owners from dutchland? I honestly do not understand why it seems impossible to get any replies from anybody. As the kids these days would say: WTF?

I suspect you are suffering from the general problem that most people in your shoes in the UK would not have such work done by a professional (for payment) and would just write off the car. Only those who do the work themselves for themselves would generally undertake such a venture over here. As for MGJohn, I suspect you would need to declare your anti-EU, anti-European, anti-establishment, anti-media and aniti-lefty feelings as well as acknowledge that "things did not used to be like this" in order to establish the camaraderie required to secure a response. |

Sounds like its getting pretty much impossible to get a proper Rover mechanic to do anything on my car. You'd think they wouldn't mind earning some money? Seriously don't get it....

You could try getting in touch with these folk: RoverKseries Specialists . I've not used them myself, so can't comment on how good (or otherwise) they are, but I did find a few references to them on a Land Rover site that were positive.
They also have a Facebook page here with some positive comments (Roverkseries.com seems to be part of Freelanderspecialist.com). Can't hurt to drop them an e-mail. Cliff

On your doorstep
How about going HERE
You can tell Peter that the IPK I received today has been repaired too They have T4, are XPart accredited dealers, and looking at the sign on the side of the building, won't have a problem dealing with a 1800 75 Brian |
