That's what I'm thinking too, mine has developed the same thing. I have a new slave ready, just waiting for the right time, it's a gearbox out I'm afraid

As a Black Country lad I like a joke Rich, but no, not doing it myself, just wanna drive 'em not lie underneath. No idea how long before they give up totally, mine was new apparently only last year. A debate was started some weeks ago, mine's a LuK, have bought a Borg & Beck from DMGRS, hoping to limit the chances of it failing again. The guy I use in Exmouth will charge around £150 to fit it, not the most pleasant of jobs.

If you're just after a Slave cylinder, I carry the Borg & Beck units for around £89 - B&B Slave Cylinder
However, I'd always change the clutch too - I do a full kit including the above at £149.99 - no brainer for the added £60 really. B&B Clutch Kit - CDTi As ever, all prices are including courier delivery to your door.

It had a clutch last year just before i bought the car but they either fitted a cheap slave or just the clutch and pressure plate.

Check the pipes coming from the top of the gearbox - if they're metal you've had a new slave (at some point), if they're plastic you likely have an original factory-fitted item.
There'll be one pipe with a bleed nipple on the end, and another running back towards the cabin - these are connected to the slave cylinder.
