while i'm here lol..
As all the front end motor stuff is coming off , and I'm in my office nowhere near the car ..
Questions about the aux belt tensioner, as might as well change it ? is it a Beemer part no ? What holds it on . how does it come off . Anyone just changed the bearing ?? ta Chris

They are usually pretty bulletproof Chris, so unless there is a problem or it has done mega mileage I'd leave it as is.
Yes you can change the bearing easily enough - it is a left hand threaded bolt. To change the tensioner you have to lower the engine a fair bit and it is held on by two bolts. . Last edited by Mike Noc; 6th July 2020 at 19:24.. |
