Default Rear door not opening from outside

Hi, rear door of my r75 saloon will not open from outside. Central locking doesn't open it and it will only open from inside door lever.

Am I looking at a new lock or could it be just a loose cable?

I think that would prevent opening from the inside

Stoketake you are quite right.

please please can I blame dyslexia as I read it as "from inside"?
If you wont let me blame dyslexia then I will have to end the week as I started, as a knob.

I've got door panel off and when pulling outer door handle everything seems to be attached.. the door opens when the latch is unlocked as per normal. But once it's locked
with the central locking or manually it then won't open with the central locking.

New lock needed by the sound of it, does the door pin pop up out of the top of the door card when fob pressed? most likely the opening switch as failed in the lock, so change it out is the answer I am afraid.

The assembly has a lock and unlock motor, manufactured by different companies. Unfortunately the unlock motor is inferior to the lock motor, and as can be seen in the pic, burns out big time. I bought some unlock motors a while ago, I put them away somewhere.....in the Okavango delta
