I need to replace mine as they are showing serious signs of Rust Spots and speaking to others they dont refurb very well as rust may have penetrated right through!!! Thus need replacing, if a set of 4 can be found easily.
Yes I think the idea of colour matching would look well on my dark atlantic Blue or the mat black again. M

I think you are correct in that they would look good on the lighter coloured Cars like Wedgewood, Black for the darked Cars or indeed colour matched which i would love to see Photos of if it has been done to date?

I would suggest someone PM's cantabro75 for more details, he may not pick up on his old thread.

I think it also depends on whether you have Cowley black sills or Longbridge colour coded ones. There was once a chap called Richard Woolley who had this idea for a new saloon. He chose black sills because it made the car look sleeker and longer. Painting the door posts the same black colour also helped in this because it "joined" the front and rear window sections visually. The black is neither gloss not matt - which helps to "lose" visually the components so treated. And that is why they are there.
Longbridge's colour coding of sills is preferred by some I know but it was driven by cost cutting - not by design. I can understand why those that prefer colour coded sills may also prefer to have the door posts colour coded with the rest of the body - each to his own but the less sleek and chunkier body style that results is a move away from the 75's individuality IMO.
