Braising steak for tea with some home grown Swede, Carrots & garlic
Those mashed carrots & swede were absolutely beautiful. much sweeter tasting than shop bought, well chuffed with the taste of those, Spuds are not quite ready for harvesting yet.

Feet up time with a bottle of Henry's cider and maybe a film later
With the exception of 3 things (swede, garlic, film) that sounds just perfect that. We had brisket with mashed tetties, squeaky beans, carrots & yorkshires. Washed down with a mcguigans merlot........V Nice

Anything veg wise is a nose turn up for me.Apart from broccoli carrots and peas with lashings of gravy accompanying a roast chicken or turkey joint. My daughter is veggie and the wife is almost that way now, both will eat fish but no meat and its becoming a problem because she has been looking new recipes during lockdown and every one is meat free, which is bothering me because i refuse to become a lentil and bean muncher. I enjoy a couple of veggie meals, but I like my chicken and turkey,I don't eat red meat now as I kind of weaned myself off it as she doesn't eat it, although I quite like a steak now and then.
I don't want to upset the applecart by saying something, but each meal that appears now is meat free.

I had a bottle of Blandford Fly ale last night and another lined up for tonight, but I poured tonight's down the sink as the one last night wasn't nice at all. Normally I really enjoy this ale but last night it gave me acid reflux quite bad, so I couldn't face it, and didn't fancy going to the local Bargain Booze for something else so no drink for me tonight.
