Just done the under bonnet rubber seals. Seeemed a good idea to get it sorted and give the battery a charge at the same time, now my Tourer is not being used much and when it is, its just sort journeys.

Thanks Steve for your picturs and know how.

One of the best adaptations I have seen in quite a while. Nice one Steve.

The existing seals have an internal hidden metal clip system which loosens with age.

You can always tighten this up with a small squeze with pliers, certainly stops the existing ones sliding about, an extra tighten at the ends of the scuttle strip ensures it grips the thiner section (metal only whereas the longest length is metal+plastic).

I confess I don't look under my bonnet enough - I do such little mileage, though that is no excuse, so I have no idea how good or bad my engine rubber seal is

I do know however that the rubber seal running down the inside driver's door is beginning to perish. From where do you obtain new rubber seals? This might prove to be a first repair job I can do myself!

Hi John.
First you need to say if you have the rubber seal or the velvet type seal, then your next action would be to contact Mickyboy on here to see if he as what you require, i am sure he would, as for a new one i have never seen any about

Looks like normal rubber type to me:

I had best copy Mickeyboy and see if he has any...this could even be yet another job I might be able to do myself!

What a fantastic idea! I’ve got a spare set so I’ll be on this! Thanks, Steve.
