Morning all,

Dry but overcast here. Due to start raining in a couple of hours.

Need to get cutting some more wood for the fire . Wasn't planning on that.

Andy.

Good morning folks - the sun has returned up here and it's mild - but not warm.
We did have a drop of rain late afternoon yesterday, but not enough to go anywhere near replenishing my water butt - we'll have to continue using metered/paid for water to sort the garden

I can't believe that yesterday Steve (w44nty) and I had an exchange of posts which mentioned Jill Gascoine of The Gentle Touch fame - and by yesterday afternoon the news channels were saying she had passed away.
RIP to a lovely lady

I've been up on Tees valley railways this afternoon on a rescue mission to bring back a stricken class 37 from Lackenby sidings, Raining there too.

Lackenby - and it's close neighbour Warrenby - now there's somewhere you need to put on your bucket list for a holiday - or perhaps a day - or perhaps 5 minutes - or perhaps find them both on a map so that you never take a wrong turning and end up there

To be fair, it's one 'eck of a sight cleaner nowadays - 99.9% of our steel making, ship building & chemical industries have long since fled the nest, never to return.

Some of the abandoned steelworks do offer some stark, urban decay style sights - somewhat similar to Jaywick. Remind me to introduce you to a local landmark when you get up to this area - it's quite scenic. I give you .....

Blimey! It ain't gone black & absolutely lashing it down here Our daughter is working from home in the conservatory & she's abandoned in there because the noise of the rain on the roof is deafening.
