In another forum topic (https://www.mg-rover.org/threads/t4-testbook.5362/ ) I found an "installation guide" one part of it says:

1. I am able to adjust the TCP/IP protocol to 192.168.1.2 BUT I need to fill in a subnet address otherwise it will not accept. Is this a step I have to do or will the software adjust this for me? 2."Workgroup T4 ? Is that something I have to adjust? 3. Compter name T4, Done! |

Update:
Today I build a dual boot laptop and did the installation of Land Rover RDS 6.00 and WDS. Software seems to work, but I have to test it on a car to be sure. If anyone has got 7.00 or higher I am interested, from 7.0 you can put all the data cd's on the hard drive which make it easier to work with. Thank you guys so far! |

No communication with my Defender TD5. It doesn't recognize the connected cable. If I switch over to my working computer it works so it must be software related. I guess some network settings but which?
And the computer is now automatically starting the T4 software, normally I don't mind but for now I don't know how to access the network settings in windows. Any tips? |

Ok, I am able to go back to the network settings, and was able to adjust from automatic select to the IP-adres to 192-168-1-2 with sub 255-255-255-0 . Apparently the RDS software did not adjust these. Fingers crossed and will test it coming week.
I bought cable DTC 0055A, thinking it was the cable I needed, but I found out DTC 0008A is the cable I need. I keep an eye on ebay, but meanwhile I know where to find the connectors but is there somebody who has got a wiring diagram of this cable? Same for the yellow DTC 00060A cable. |
