This is where i,m coming from.!!
I don't go in for long rambling posts and on the whole I also don't read them .
This one however will be by way of a rant so here goes. 3 weeks ago I asked for a thread of mine to be closed as it was being used by some members to have a go at each other . That's the first time I have asked for a thread I started to be closed , it irked me somewhat to say the least. Yesterday I asked the mods to close another of my threads for the same reason. I took the decision before mods did .. It was put to me (by someone I have great respect for) that I limit the subject of my threads as they are being pounced on by those with their own agenda. I try and always have tried to post with humour on just about everything I see in the news and if it gets taken in a whole new direction that's not my doing. Some folk on here plainly don't like each other (or respect their views) but that doesn't give you the right to ruin what are interesting and funny threads. I came home from our monthly Hawes Inn meet to see yet another thread closed . In that thread I found a member on here posting that (certain people) can'twait to be first to post up a news item in this section Well blow me down has it come to the bit where posting about daily events is frowned on. There are some people on here I have no time for but the fact is that (all life is here) and I tolerate them as they do me . I don't have one single member on my ignore list as if they have an opinion I want to hear it. I have been told nor to start anymore threads on a certain subject and I will respect that . Rules are rules and so be it , however IMHO taking out a subject that affects all our lives takes out debate. Those who take such threads off in the direction THEY want have killed debate. Nasty jibes and getting personal cause threads to be closed. So to the person who had a wee dig at those of us who post up news items I will continue to post them up as it starts conversation and debate and gets those who like to laugh do so. Thanks for reading this but please please please don't corrupt the thread with any agendas you may have. Last edited by FLYER; 28th March 2015 at 07:28.. |

Well put George,
The old saying of 'if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it' springs to mind Reasoned debate is good, mud slinging, arguments and nastiness not so good!
