Electric Window Stops Before Top
Hi,
Just replaced my drivers side electric window motor and mechanism with a second hand one. The cable has snapped on previous one. Bit confused now as the window stops before it reaches the top !! Window motor stops automatically about 2 inches from being closed. Is this something simple to rectify or has the motor/mechanism I have bought had it. There is nothing physically preventing the motor from stopping. Thanks for any help on this one. |

You have upset the anti trap somehow.
Did you remove the trim in the pic below. If so take it back off, refit, checking the anti trap tube, tweeter and anti trap connections are ok and not reversed.

As above. If a window is stopping just millimeters from the top it can sometimes be sorted with a little white grease on the runners.

Does it stop short if you pull the glass up as it goes?

If I use the one-click method the glass stops about 2 inches from the top. The only way it will go any further is if I press the switch repeatedly, then it creeps up in jerks about a quarter of an inch each time.
I didnt remove any of the trim shown in the photograph. Looking at the the photo, where does the anti trap connection go to? |
