Replacing duff Alpine CD multi-disc player
Following another thread about the problems with using CDR in the original factory fit Alpine multi-disc units and std factory radio that was fitted to the original 75 and early ZTs, I am now thinking of one of the head unit types that has Bluetooth and MP3 via an SD card or USB flash rather than any cumbersome multi-disc changer. Is there one that is available under £150 - not worried about sound quality - that will interface with the existing steering wheel controls?
I know a CDTi owner that fitted this one, but he has the IR sensor, is the IR sensor fitted with the original std factory Alpine units? |

Sony do a head unit thats CD/MP3 but the front panel is a 1Gb Memory stick, so you can store loads of MP3's on there too.... I'll try and get the model number now.
This is it, the Sony MEX-1GP ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SONY-MEX-1GP-C...QQcmdZViewItem ..and being Sony, you can get the adapters to utilise the OEM steering controls no problem. EDIT: Oops, just noticed it doesn't have Bluetooth though, sorry.

Thanks, Spanky, I guess, Bluetooth can be done other ways, right, via a FM transmitter to a selected pre-set station?
