Rover 820... Any issues I should know of ?
I'm picking up a cheap 820 2.0 T-Series tomorrow for 100 Quid to drive until my 75 is repaired, so is there any problems I should look out for ?

It is a T-Series, I edited it when I realised what I typed haha!
It is a 2000 by the way, one of the last ones ever made. |

my dad also has one of the last vitesses and its been a great car, sticking valves can occur but I think they modified the valves with a scraper on the later ones (could be wrong and thinking of another engine here) and can leak oil from headgasket but reliability wise they are great, one to watch is radiator condition and also for the coolant header tank spilt

Thanks! I'm actually quite excited about picking up my Vitesse!
It is fully loaded too! Front and rear leccy windows Air Conditioning (reconditioned 2 weeks ago) Rover CD player & changer Anti-Lock Brakes 2 Year old leak-free twin pipe exhaust New cambelt 19,000 miles ago Leccy mirrors Half leather seats That is just some of the options I can think of right now I've got a question though, does the 2000 800 have the 5AS alarm system ? As I've noticed from personal experience they like to drain batteries! |

Sounds nice my old man's vittese only has 27k miles on it and lived in a garage most of its life, he also has a 1998 one with 150k miles and has been to the south of france a good few times, never had any trouble with any of them, not even an oil leak!

I had an S reg dark blue fastback with beige leather and vitesse alloys Had 180k and still going strong when I sold it.
It liked to leak a bit of oil here and there but went well with none in there I think alternators can be a weak point, mine went and I think I read of a few other people having problems. |

Well if it is the 5AS alarm system fitted, they drain batteries, so the alternator needs to be good to charge the battery back up again, so hopefully mine won't go!
