Wouldn't be so bad if you could see the registration plate - you could check with DVLA.

Guess the only way to be sure is to phone them up!

Looks very dodgy,it says it's located in Bournemouth but in fact it's in West Dublin where it's advertised as a 1.8 Manual with a hatchback,90,000 miles registered in 2004 with now an extra owner

Agreed. The car being described in ebay ad isn't the one in the picture.
They can't even get the engine size correct - if it's a 2.5, it's certainly not 2.2 as it says!
Also says leather interior but the photo of the 1.8 is cloth.

One to steer clear of, unless you live in Bournemouth and can view it.

Also it has got the Classic SE/Club alloys on by the look of it and the lamps might be projectors and not the Xenons.

The lamps appear to have a washer jet on the bumper, so assuming this is OEM, the lamps are HID projectors ('xenon' in MGR speak).

The guy has answered some questions on ebay, including providing the number plate (AM 51 AUA ) and confirming that it is a 2.5 Petrol Automatic Connie SE that he is "selling".

I wonder if the dealer in Dublin knows their car's photograph is on ebay??

Very suspicious looking.....

Well AM 51 AUA is certainly registered as a Blue Petrol Conny 2.5SE, although first registration date is 30/11/01 not 1/1/01 as in ebay ad.

Why don't you ask him to post or send you some interior pictures. If its kosher you'll see some nice cream leather. If not you'll see the same interior pic in the Dublin pictures

Maybe someone should tell the dealer in Dublin...

Or the Police?

There's an article in this month's Reader's Digest about car thieves who clone a car, and get the details of a genuine car for sale elsewhere. They have the keys etc for the original car, and have made duplicates. Once they sell it, they wait a short time, and then steal it back again, and once more clone it with a new identity...
