Just heard a deep rumble of piston engined aircraft outside, & managed to grab a pic of these two Dakota's

Are they C47's? Most unusual these days, good old aircrafts.

From the wing & engine configuration they certainly looked like it I think i spotted D-Day markings on the fuselage

They were heading in the direction of Teeside airport Derek, so they may have been to a show somewhere

It's the Sunderland Airshow this weekend, I saw them fly over here earlier Ronnie, along with the Lancaster.

Had one fly over a couple of weeks back, also with invasion stripes, didn't get chance of a picture .

Think they are doing the rounds of the shows due to the anniversary.
