Talking Help Peugeot 607 2.0 se Petrol

Hello all, yes i know the above topic is not about my Rover 75, but I'm looking at buying the above as a second car as i have not sold my 75 and as they say a change is as good as a rest.

Anybody know much about these. I have read some great reports and some horror stories, but the same could be said for Rover 75's i read some horror stories before i purchased my current 75.

Oh it is a 53 plate, manual with 50k on the clock for £4000

Any advice would be much appreciated

Andrew

Honest Johns reviews was not too bad at all, i have read much worse, most problems seem to be with the 2.2 hdi auto, most people saying they ahve pobelms with it. I think the 2.0 petrol engione in it is the same they use in the 407 and used in the 206 cc and and the 406, so it is a proven and reliable engine. i think!!!!!

in which case you may be about to make a shrewd purchase....

whats the fuel consumption like as I imagine its heavier/bulkier than even a 75?

the figures say that around town it will do late 20's which would be good as my 75 does very very low twentys, so should be an improvement on what i do now.

I quite like them. They're pretty soft on the move, like a 75, and they're more reliable than a Renault Safrane. I'm always a bit sniffy about the metalwork on Pugs though, they don't seem to shrug off minor knocks very well and always feel a bit thin.

Hi all,

I have now purchased the car, i have paid £4000 and they are giving the car full service, MOT, 4 new tyres, and sorting out a scratch on the back door, and 12 months tax, what a bargain if i do say so myself. I purchased the car from inchcape auto park in burton on trent, so really really pleased with the deal. The 75 will now go in the garage and will become a future classic, and i may do all the add on extras over the years. So when i get that V8 bumper it will look great.

Will post pics of the 607 when i get it

Andrew
