Yep brushes are the same in both motors but as Andy says not a separately available or replaceable part as far as Siemens are concerned so I would not expect them to provide them separately

You are doing a sterling job mr Mableson

Hold on again!!
Presumably Seimens don't make brushes themselves so we just have to find out where they get them from!

Bribe someone

If you are looking for brushes try here:
http://www.technikline.com/pi1422565...?categoryId=27
One set, 4 brushes is €8,50 + €3.50 for shipping in Europe, is about 8 pound  .

Great link!
Just need an interpreter now! I cannot see the exact size we need.

Anyone thought of changing the actual brush holders; it might open our options a great deal? Just a thought.

From what I have read in other forums, the first set of 4 brushes would be correct: 5x10x24mm.

Kohlebürste: Brushes
Lüftermotoren z.B. Rover: cooling fan motors e.g. Rover
Kaufen: buy
Google can do a better job

Just found Keith's measurements again:

Brush Length 22mm
Brush Width 9.6mm
Brush Thickness 4.6mm
All four long edges have a very slight chamfer

Copper braid exits centre back of one of the wider sides and is about 1 to 1.5mm thick and about 2mm wide (not easy to measure really)! Braid needs to be capable of carrying say 40-60A and needs to be at least 35mm long.

So I am going to try a set, with probably a little emery cloth to reduce the dimensions to make them fit perfectly.
It even mentions Rover when you add a set to the shopping basket!!

They say its similar to Welsh,
Well I'm struggling with it, can't see the similarity.
You could put it through Google.

Try this for translations:

Not perfect but you get the meaning of most translations.
