What I didn't do to my Rover 75 MGZT today - Page 33

I didn't do any preparation to Mo to get her ready for the big radiator challenge. I've read Jules how-to about not having to degas the aircon, and tbh I thought removing bumper etc. was what I would have to do anyway

Still, gives me a chance to change O rings, fit Gold resistor etc. A new fan is a bit beyond my bank balance right now otherwise I could have considered that too. Depends what needs doing as opposed to what I would like to do.

Still not fitting those nice shiny drop links from DMGRS to Hengist - the Sun is out for once, it's Brackley Motorcycling festival tommorrow and I'm a good distance from there, so it's a meander down today and a marathon ride back tommorrow.

Driving along at steady 60mph for over 40 miles, all of a sudden temperature guage dropped to the bottom, cold, pulled into lay bye, turned engine off expecting a problem. Left it for 5 minutes, checked water level, all ok! turned key went into diagnostics, everything ok again. Continued my journey with no problems. Did not do anything but at a loss as to why it happened! Hope there is no problem on motorways tomorrow going to Rover Fest.

Check your bonnet catch is fully engaged. I had similar issue a while back. The bonnet was lifting slightly allowing extra air to enter the front. Fixed the catch and the problem hasn't reoccurred.

I did an oil change on the Triumph

I even managed to get most of it in the oil drain can.

Or course, I had to take it out for a blast before hand (to warm the oil up) and another blast afterwards (to check for leaks).

Replaced the trailing arm bushes on my daughter's Citroen Dispatch. Would have been far easier using a lift instead of a variety of jacks on the drive to drop the back axle, but that's life.

Used this puller kit which I bought 18 months ago:

Chinese made but surprisingly good quality and did the job. It has many more parts then you can see as the sleeves are packed like Russian dolls - either two or three deep.

Last time I tried this without a decent puller kit it took ages to get the old bushes out, and the new ones were too tight to go fully back in, so had to completely disconnect the axle and take it down to the local garage for them to press the bushes in.
