3g or 4g
Good afternoon All,
I am using an iPhone6 Plus and wondered if anyone can tell me how to check if I'm running on 3g or 4g? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Tom

It will say next to the signal bars on your phone Mine is usually GPRS or E which is slow, upto 4G (generation) which is fast.
This may help. http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/feature/n...wi-fi-3509254/

Thanks for that Craig.
As I had got wifi permanently switched I wasn't seeing the notification. Unfortunately mine is only on 3g. Regards Tom.

There is very little if any difference between the 2 really, especially for normal email and browsing stuff. Mine at work is GPRS and is noticeably slower.
Be glad that you have 3G.

Did you purchase 4g with your contract? It will show as 3G or 4G at the top of your phone when wifi isn't in use. 4G is so much faster now then 3G. You won't get 4G everywhere, but in most places. In remote places, you may still we'll pick up 3G.

I was not offered a choice when I signed up, but as I only use my phone for calls and texts, I don't think 4g would be any great advantage to me.
I do have a mobile data allowance on my contract but very seldom use it. Regards Tom.

IPhone 5 series battery's are awful. Having one myself, i know. The battery life on the new 6 is far superior now.

I replaced my iPhone 5 battery with a higher capacity one off the bay. That was 6 month ago and it really works/lasts well now, all for £10.

Hi.
My HTC shows "H" most of the time and occasionally LTE if I'm within range. I find "H" quite fast certainly better than G3. (H= G3.5 so I'm told)
