Question clutch

i have just noticed on my 03 1.8 conn when i let the clutch pedal up in first gear there is sometimes a squeel and i am sure i can feel this in the clutch pedal any help please

I get this every now and again, but more of a low groan. I've heard Rover used different clutch plates for a while, around '03, different material or no springs or something. They later went back to the earlier type.

A batch of 2003-04 cars were fitted with harder clutch linings, which were then dropped for the earlier type. VIN 293500 to VIN 332991 had them apparently. Mine's in the list and occassionally gives a dry 'squawk' on starting off. Yes, you can feel it through the pedal. It's nowt to fret over they reckon.

Mine had a new clutch and squeals quite often so those nasty clutch plates made it in to the spare parts bin as well
