Thats NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- sorry, just phone around places listed or exhaust centres, the price will be a lot cheaper.
If it doesn't fit it would fail MOT from noise and emmisions, and when fitted they do guarantee them.

Had a new cat fitted locally £250 approx, good price but noisier than original, resonance at about 2500 rpm not noticeable when making progress/
driving aggressively, but irritating when cruising at 2.500 rpm get a whooooo at this rpm. You pays your money you gets your choice. Dave

The Diesel Cats are a Lot cheaper than The Petrol ones, and of course are not required either, hence the DeCat done by a lot of Members..

The chap who is sourcing the cat for me said it is the same as the one for the 75 1.8t. (I have a ZTT 1.8t).

I am sure that is right, could somebody confirm that for me.

Thanks

Andy

Sounds logical that the same engine would require the same CAT regardless of body shape and interior/exterior looks.

Time to return to the cat.

At the weekend my engine light came on and today my dealer had diagnosed the problem as a fault with the new cat (4 months old!).

The cat was sourced elsewhere so I now have to claim under the one year warranty.

The dealer has said they never use aftermarket cats as they always fail and are a false economy.

How long have folks had there aftermarket cats fitted and have you had any probs?

Thanks

Andy

To add to the above, my dealer has reset the engine light and it has not come on since, which I thought it would have done if the cat has failed.

Can they disable/override the fault code so the light stays out?

No idea about the light, but sorry to hear you might be having a problem with an aftermarket cat. Mine's still rattling like a good'un at a certain rev range but must still be working as it just passed it's MOT.
Obviously will need changing soon though so I hope your cat is either ok as it'll be the same type i'll be getting in the near future.
