Hi Tim
Thanks for the feedback in your case! Even with all fins present I'm finding the condensers are way down on efficiency if: Over 5 years old or Exceeded 90K miles ! I'm trying to put some more data together re the temperature of the HP pipe before and after the Condenser. As a general guide, if the HP pipe is getting more than luke warm to the feel. (As felt near the Bonnet diver block) with the cooling Fan running, then it's time expired for the condenser. My observations after I've fitted a new condenser are that the AC system will run quite happily without the cooling fan running at all for quite a few minutes!! (ambient temp of 20 deg C ) with the HP pipe hardly getting warm at all, which goes to show how effective a good condenser is. Some temp figures/data to follow. As regards the 3 speed RPM figures (I don't know where those other figures come from, but they are not correct) My belief is the speeds are far closer together .................more like: Low 1000 RPM MED 1300 RPM HIGH 1500 RPM 2 speed OEM Fan: LOW 600 RPM HIGH 1500 RPM Which explains why the LOW speed on the later 2 speed is far quieter than LOW on a 3 speed

Ellow Ian. Did you have to make a hole for the fan to go in?, or (2) had one been made and supplied with the fan by Jules? orrr (3) did the new one fit in the hole left by the old one?
Had you let me know in advance you were making said purchase, I could have made you a hole for it, if indeed one was required. I know it would have meant a largish box to send it in, But I already have several large boxes that now I have removed their contents, would easily have accommodated the aforementioned hole. In fact I could have fitted a spare hole in as well for future use, if I laid one upon the other.. PS.. nice to see Jules is alive and well and sending out goodies.. PSS. For those of you who didn't know, 3Disco = Ian. Was the kind gentlman who sent me 4 holes to fit my new rear parking sensors in.. .. ... Last edited by James.uk; 8th June 2010 at 17:39.. |
