Default Dare I do it?

Well, work on the 1.8 is progressing steadily, but I need to be careful with cash as the next biggie is the sills, and that won't be cheap. The thing is, the front bumper spoils her. I think the previous owner liked to ride into things with it. I am thinking of rubbing it down and rattle canning it - surely even that has to be better than the current situation? I already have a new number plate on order. What do you think?

Concentrate on all the important "biggies" first Dawn, aesthetics can wait. Just my opinion after following your story since you purchased the car.

I'd say the same. The bumper isn't metal so it won't corrode and can be left until you have the means to get it sorted professionally. Besides which, it will be a nightmare trying to match a rattle can to paintwork that's spent the better part of two decades exposed to the elements and may end up looking worse than a few scrapes.

Hope you'll be fitting the new number plate with sticky pads rather than screws - even ones with caps on look naff (IMHO of course).

Get some touchup for the car at less than a fiver and touchup as good as you can, sure you;ll see it close but from a distance your bumper will look fine.

I've ordered the touch up, as I have a couple of stone chips too. At least then the black won't be visible until she can be done properly.

Keep your eyes on the breaking, i've often picked up bumpers for the price of two or three rattle cans.

I am looking, but NNX doesn't come up very often When they do, they're dodgy. White just shows everything!
