Mk1 seat plugs v mk2
Anyone know what the seat plug differences are between mk1 75s and mk 2s.
I k ow the airbag plugs are different but Ive got a set of mk1 electric heated seats I want to put into a mk2. Appears the wiring loom is in place on the switch panel but not sure re plugs under the seat. |

Just cut them off and use generic plugs.

Yep, your all right.
Main block plug is the same but the airbag plugs on the 2001 are smaller than the 2003. Ended up cutting the wires and re joining. Interestingly the wire colours on one of the plugs is different between the years as well. Next question, does the larger plugs in the 2003 remain the same in the 2004 model as I'm going to put a set of 2003 seats into a 2004.? |

Yep only early and late cars differ, but then again you might have a late car with some early seats fitted... I have seen it before 😄

Interestingly I found the car has the wiring loom and switches fitted for heated seats and rear blind but I can't find any wiring for sun visors with lighting at least not the sun visor holes.
If anyone has a 3 hole switch in light oak I'd be interested. Can't find any on the bay!! Also interestingly found under the drivers side seat out of a 2001 one of the heated seats has a yellow relay ? Never seen that before on my 2003 heated seats as I recollect. I found the relay on the early seats I fitted into my O4, I discovered that it prevented the seats being moved unless the key was in and supplying power, whereas in my original seats they moved anytime.(power on or off)

Did you happen to bypass the relay and if so how?

No, just left it in, it's not doing any harm, can't think that I ever needed to move the seats when I didn't have my keys in the ignition.
I was just more concerned that when I swapped the seats over and tried to move them I thought the seats were maybe faulty so I was glad when I found out the originally Rover intended them to work with the relay and most likely Project Drive removed them.
