Got a broken b/band router so offline most of the time. However, Thursday did an oil and oil filter change, Friday had a new windscreen put in, and today did the sunroof drain mod (passenger side) all on Kim. Will get round to doing the drivers side soon.
Also took delivery of four new rubber exhaust mounts. Two front and two rear. The fronts have disappeared and the rears look like big rubber bands. Metal strip for the fronts missing along with the rubbers so I'm thinking of fashioning a length of coat hanger wire to use as a temporary measure.

If I said I checked them at least monthly I'd be fibbing Bri.

Don't park under trees, clear anything visible at the base of the windscreen each trip before getting in and job's a good un.

Elsham Hall Tomorrow

Started off with all good intentions this morning to get "Ginnie", our 2.0 75 petrol V6, ready for Elsham Hall tomorrow and took her for a nice car wash. When I got back I started to wax her but the sun was getting too hot so I stopped and decided to clean the alloys.

Then the rain came and a quick exit into the house, after grabbing the washing off the line, was met by shock and horry by 'Her Indoors' ... dirty finger marks all over the washing! "Yes dear but they are dry !" Thwak! ..... Quick exit into the garage in the little space I've been allowed to say is mine.

Rain stopped only to discover that the birds (the full total of all the extras from the Alfred Hitchcock Thriller The Birds by the look of it) had crapped all over those parts I had just waxed. Strange but they missed all those areas I have yet to wax ... is there some attraction between car wax and bird NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-?

Another wash of the car and then cleaned the interior and the sun was shining again so I completed the waxing. Well the best I could ... just as quick as I waxed the wind blew dust all over her so I skipped a good waxing in case I scratched the paint work ... there's always tomorrow.

Full of new energy from the waxing I decided it was time to replace that rear lower engine mount that I got from Trikey a month or two ago. I was expecting to be at it for hours but after removing the heat shield the two bolts holding the mount in place just unscrewed beautifully. A slight push on the engine let the rear bolt come away and the thing was out ... in two pieces ... the rubber around the larger end had completley broken away. Refitting was just as quick although I did fit some outsized washers for the heat shield bolt and fastner as it had started to oxidise around the holes.

Oil, water, screen washer all topped up and we're ready for tomorrow.

See you there?

Neill

75 washed, and back in use. Driving ok after the inlet manifold/egr clean. Still need time to sort the water leak in the drivers rear quarter so I can refit the satnav unit. Not going to happen today as it's raining, the highline seems quite dated now.

We had an enormous storm go over us last night with lots and lots of rain. I was a bit concerned about the plenums as I hadn't checked them in a while. As it turns out they were both dry, but to be sure I wasn't caught out the next time, I have just completed the Plenum spy hole mod
