Default Been under the ZT 4 first time

With the Zt as high as my jack will go and the axle stands inserted, I just fitted under neath for my very first excursion under the car.

No quite as slim as few years back. would never have got under last xmas .

Job 1 was checking the lower mount with lots of other members having failures.
My mount seems good no split or cracks.. and on 91k miles too.

No visible drips/leaks or rusties just some sticky gunge from where the EGR bypass doesn't seal properly at the exhaust joint.

job 2 find & fit Roverrons spring ( still in envelope since god knows when)

Nah!! can barely see it . need 3 elbows to get at it , and its so tight , frightened of breaking something. so not done.

I find the bottom tray, has all its front fixings missing.. and the 7 odd screws holding the front on the car are rusted solid. so soaked em in anti rust and left them ready for the front off session another day.
nice example of a garages servicing attention to detail !! .

Might for go the spring in favor of a boost valve..

Also spent the PM polishing & titivating the Porsche 944 ready for its sale .
Just abut kernackered!

If that's the original mount, it's done well, mine was shot at 51K...(there's a picture somewhere)

Check through the history ,, still the original, had a real close look and feel using a torch , still central and no visible cracks. Must be one the good ones !.

Surprised how clean and dry it was under there after all those miles .

As a matter of interest, where did you locate the stands? There's a thread about positioning axle stands and everybody seems to have their own idea as to the correct location for them. See here: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=35051

I jacked in the middle at the front then put the stands under my nice
new jacking points.
only problem here is by the time the jack is up fully , my stands are at lowest settings and the belly only just fits under..

but with the new diet should fit better later on in the year !
